The seasons are a'changing!

Well folks, today we retired our window air conditioning unit. The crisp morning air and changing leave colors are indicating that fall is here, and summer on its way out. And to be honest, I don't care one bit!

I love fall. Don't get me wrong, I love summer. But the smoky 95 degree days are something that I am more than happy to leave behind. The cooler days and bright blue skies we have had lately are what I dream of.

Changing of the seasons is always a time of reflection for me. A new season, new home routines (my kids aren't in school yet but bedtimes become earlier), time to decide what I want the next few months to look like before the next season begins.

This isn't a very chiropractic centered post, but more one where I want to reflect on life in general. The chaos of the world around us can be overwhelming but with each new season we still get to decide what we want to focus on in our homes and in our lives. We cannot control our circumstances, only how we respond to our circumstances.

And I suppose in this way this is how chiropractic DOES relate to the season change. Because getting adjusted is about improving your brain-body connection and in this way improves how your brain responds to your environment and therefore circumstances.

Maybe its a stretch, maybe I'm just rambling as its late and I'm writing this after tucking my kids in bed, but either way, this is a great time to embrace the changes that are happening (and by that I mean seasonally and not necessarily the political ones happening today) and focus on what you can control and let go of that which you can't.
